Background of the Study

Agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA, like in many rural areas, face challenges in making informed financial decisions. Cost-benefit analysis (CBA) is a decision-making tool used to evaluate the costs and benefits of different alternatives. This study will explore the role of CBA in guiding decision-making processes in agricultural enterprises within Maradun LGA.

Statement of the Problem

Agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA often face difficulties in making investment decisions due to a lack of reliable financial tools. Aim and Objectives of the Study

Aim: To examine the role of cost-benefit analysis in decision-making for agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA.
Objectives:

  1. To assess how agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA use cost-benefit analysis in their decision-making processes.
  2. To evaluate the impact of CBA on the profitability and sustainability of these enterprises.
  3. To identify the challenges in implementing CBA in the local agricultural sector.

Research Questions

  1. How do agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA apply cost-benefit analysis in decision-making?
  2. What impact does CBA have on the profitability and sustainability of agricultural enterprises?

Research Hypothesis

  1. H₀: Cost-benefit analysis does not significantly impact decision-making and profitability in agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA.
  2. H₀: There is no significant relationship between CBA and the sustainability of agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA.

Significance of the Study

This study will highlight the importance of cost-benefit analysis as a tool for enhancing decision-making in agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA. The findings could help improve agricultural productivity and guide policy decisions in the sector.

Scope and Limitation of the Study

The study will focus on agricultural enterprises in Maradun LGA, particularly in crop and livestock farming. Limitations may include the availability of detailed financial data and resistance to change among local farmers.
